Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation

One child’s disruptive behavior can throw off a whole classroom. It wears on your good teachers, brings out conflicts or fear from other children, and often gets reported back to parents. You struggle to partner with the parents who don’t want to hear another bad report about their child. You’re not sure you can continue to support a child with these kinds of behaviors and aren’t sure the parents can either. You know there are laws in Illinois against preschool expulsion but you aren’t sure how to comply. I help schools navigate the challenges of challenging behavior. I bring a reflective, strengths-based practice to managing behavior, addressing trauma, and fostering attachment. By collaborating with teachers in their classrooms, they develop reflective mindsets and skill sets to support the social and emotional development in young children. I help you build supportive partnerships with families and provide consultation on their individual child. Your teachers get the consultative support they need so they can learn each other’s strengths and how best to work together. I bring a calm non-judgmental presence to these interactions, so you can catch your breath and not feel so alone. This is hard, important work. You know that early intervention is key. You are helping shape little people and you need someone you can trust. If you are ready to collaborate with confidence, let’s connect.
